These are the qualifications that matter.
- High school degree (or equivalent experience)
- Five years of maintenance experience, with at least one year with the same employer
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and communicate effectively.
- Physically capable of remaining active (standing, sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, climbing, etc) and lifting 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining production equipment to optimize runability through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machines. Candidates for consideration should have strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and the aptitude to correct system failures.
- Candidates are also expected to utilize both excellent electrical/electronic skills and knowledge (PLCs, A/C, D/C motors and drives, schematics) and mechanical skills and knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication) in our continuous process-manufacturing environment to achieve machine uptime metrics.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, band saw, milling machine, welder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
